Seminary Classes Offered at Flamingo Road Church

Did you know that Flamingo has been offering seminary classes for college credit? A few of our class members have already taken advantage of this unique opportunity and have completed several classes.

The next seminary class at Flamingo begins on Thursday, September 16th at 7pm. These classes are ideal for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of the Bible as well as anyone considering entering into ministry. Intimidated by attending a college class? Don't be. The material is presented by college professor Dr. David Lema in a fun and relaxed class-room environment where students are encouraged to ask questions and explore the material.

This class is part of a twelve month certificate program accredited through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). Note: registered class members are actually enrolled as students at NOBTS. It is a recurring program, and students may join at the beginning of any of the 8 five-week courses. You do not need to commit to attend the entire accredited 40 week course, and you may opt to take only selected classes. Classes are held at the Cooper City Campus. Registration cost is $25 for the entire 12-month certificate program. Cost for each five-week course (seminary credit course) is $90. Please plan on arriving at 6pm the first night to complete your registration process. Attendees who are using this course for credit toward their BMC (Biblical Ministry Certificate) may only miss 1 class and still receive seminary credit. This class will focus on Missions. All classes will begin at 7pm and conclude at 10pm each Thursday during the course period.

You may pre-register for the class by accessing the link on the Seminary Page of the church web site, or you may Pre-Register Here. If you have any questions, please email Janis Whipple at Janis.whipple@flamingoroad.org.

I hope you are able to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity and partnership with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. It would be awesome to have as many of our class members enrolled as possible!

Viva Experience for Women

An inspiring and exciting evening just for the women! Let's get all of the girls in our group, maybe invite some of our co-workers, neighbors, and family, and celebrate a beautiful evening together with Stephanie Gramling. The theme will be "Awaken the Potential Within You," and the evening will conclude with a Pink After-Party! Sound's like a great Girls Night Out, huh? Tickets are $10 and may be purchased Online or at any of our Connection Centers. For those interested, lets get our tickets together after class one Saturday night.

Viva Experience for Men

Hey, Guys. This is a great opportunity for the men in our group to hang with some of the guys at FRC and spend some time with Pastor Troy. It will be a high-energy, high testosterone event (ie., not for the ladies).

It will be followed by fun, games, and "Man Food" (ie. no cute, bite-sized sandwiches with the crust cut off)! It will be Friday night, May 14th from 7pm till 9pm at Flamingo Road Church, Cooper City Campus. Tickets are only $10, and you can get them Online or at our Connection Center.

#4 Most Innovative Church in America!
According to Zondervan and Outreach Magazine, Flamingo Road Church has been named #4 of the Top 25 Most Innovative Churches in America! Not exactly sure what that means, but that's good, right? It shows that our Pastor and church know how to think "outside-the-box" to reach our communities and make an impact for Christ. It means never being content with the accomplishments of yesterday or today and always looking forward. "Creativity" and "Innovention" are two of our Ethos. It is leveraging our resources, talents, people and creativity to discover and develop new and unique ways to share the gospel and change lives.

Here is a list of the Top 10 Innovative Churches:
1. LifeChurch.tv (Edmond, OK) :: Craig Groeschel
2. Mars Hill Church (Seattle, WA) :: Mark Driscoll

EVANGELISM SEMINARY GEAR, Thursdays 7-10pm.

Members of Flamingo Road Church have a unique opportunity to take college accredited courses right at Flamingo Cooper City Campus. Flamingo Road, in partnership with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, offers courses throughout the year. The latest course in the Seminary program is Evangelism. Although this 5 week course started last Thursday, you can still register for credit by attending next Thursday. The course is designed to provide a study of the biblical basis of evangelism, to know and understand the different church programs on evangelism, and to develop personal witnessing skills (special emphasis will be spent on developing personal witnessing skills and sharing Jesus without fear).

What a joy and privilege it is to have Dr. David Lema teaching at Flamingo. He has a quick mind and easy teaching style with wonderful stories and personal insights. Evangelism is not for professionals. It is something that everyone can do. In fact, we are ALL called to evangelize. Evangelism is not inviting friends and neighbors to church (although that is a good thing). It is sharing the Good News. God is less concerned about the number of people we win than the number of times we share the gospel. Our job is to share. God does the rest. I am grateful to belong to a church that places the call to evangelize in such high regard. After all, it is called the Great Commission for a reason.

New Class Series: 5 Easy Steps to Wreck Your Life

Nobody plans for it to happen, but life can get pretty messy. Trouble with our relationships... harmful habits... feeling far from God... we look back and wonder, “How did I end up here?” Starting down that path is easier than you might think, unless you know what to look for. This 4 week series begins on Saturday, Jan. 23rd. We will be meeting at the regular time (7:30pm) in Room 126. Although we generally suspend class the last weekend of the month for a class social, during the month of January, we will hold class every Saturday.

Superbowl Party at the Reyes House

Goofy glasses, funny commercials, awesome food.....oh yeah.....and great football as well. It's that time of year again. Time for our Annual Connect Group Superbowl Party. On Sunday, Feb. 6th, 5:30pm, we will be partying at the home of Jess and Karen Reyes, 9706 Greenwood Rd, Weston, FL. This is all about kicking back and having a good time with friends. Bring your family, neighbors, and co-workers. The more the merrier! Every family should bring a bottle of soda, a Superbowl entree, and a dessert. If you are bringing a truck-load of people, that's cool...just please bring a little extra food and drinks.
